Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed care facility situated in the town of Guiseley, in the heart of West Yorkshire, Leeds. The home provides the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care to residents with a variety of needs, including residential, nursing, and dementia care. It reflects the New Care vision of safety, comfort, and care excellence. We invest in the latest technology and offer purposeful daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents' experience, care, and wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for warmth and passion, undergo full induction, and receive ongoing training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. We have maintained a policy of no agency staff use for over 3 years by employing a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care from familiar staff who residents trust. Across New Care, all staff are paid above the national living wage.
We are seeking to appoint kind, caring, and compassionate Care Assistants to join our team. You will deliver quality care to residents in line with agreed Care Plans and contribute to the efficient running of the care home. We offer full-time contracts with an hourly rate of £11.44. Shift times are 19:45-08:00, with alternate weekend working.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Deliver “hands-on” care to residents in a person-centred way.
2. Support residents to enjoy a good quality of life.
3. Model best practices when delivering care.
4. Assist residents with all aspects of their physical, emotional, and spiritual care needs in line with care plans.
5. Contribute to daily records of residents.
6. Work effectively within a team and undertake delegated tasks efficiently.
7. Promote and safeguard the welfare of adults the post holder is responsible for or comes into contact with.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Experience as a Care Assistant in a care environment is preferable.
2. Care certificate or equivalent, or willingness to achieve this within the first 12 months of employment.
3. Good knowledge of care practices relating to older people.
4. Understanding of the 6 principles of care and their application in residential/nursing settings.
5. Ability to work well in a team.
6. Self-motivated and confident.
