Responsibilities
* Craft personalized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
* Document accurately to ensure precision, legality, and clarity for the team.
* Lead each shift by organising and guiding the team.
* Facilitate seamless shift handovers, ensuring clear communication.
* Monitor residents’ health through routine observations and specific care needs.
* Administer medications safely, adhering to MAR sheets and protocols.
* Build trusting relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
* Promote resident independence in daily activities while providing support.
* Respond to team feedback, prioritising resident well‑being.
* Champion respect, advocating for residents’ dignity and preferences.
* Encourage social engagement through activities to enrich residents’ lives.
* Maintain a vigilant focus on safety and a secure environment.
* Support balanced nutrition and hydration, monitoring at risk residents.
* Act swiftly in emergencies, using the on‑call system to enhance care quality.
Qualifications
* Registered General or Mental Health Nurse (RGN or RMN) with an active NMC Nursing PIN.
* Passion for care and a desire to improve residents’ lives – care‑home experience is a plus.
* Ability to connect warmly with residents, families, and colleagues.
* Excellent communication skills, delivering clarity, empathy, and respect.
