Summary responsibilities

1. Delivery of a holistic, person-centred service to care home residents, which identifies their hospitality, housekeeping and catering needs and preferences. Collaborating with other teams to achieve this.
2. Maintain a high standard of hygiene in accordance with health and safety, infection control standards, food hygiene legislation and St Monica Trust’s policies and procedures.
3. Ensure room checks, communal room comfort, cleanliness, hygiene and laundry sorting.
4. Meet residents’ unique needs and collaborate with colleagues across the care home teams.
5. Ensure lounge areas (where applicable) are ready for use as a coffee and bar venue for residents and their visitors.

Other Skills & Qualifications

Essential

28. Confident with IT and using standard office programs including word, outlook/email, system folders etc
29. Understanding of basic food preparation and cleaning techniques
30. An understanding and appreciation of older people in a care setting and the issues that may affect them
31. Knowledge of basic health and safety rules
32. Knowledge of customer service principles

Desirable

33. Level 1 or 2 in Food Hygiene (or equivalent)
34. Level 2 in Healthcare Cleaning (or equivalent)
35. General level of education (GCSE or equivalent)
36. Familiar with Microsoft 365 and video call programs such as Facetime, Zoom etc
37. Working experience in a care setting
38. Knowledge of safe moving and handling techniques

40. This role profile contains the principal accountabilities relating to this post and does not describe in detail all the duties required to carry them out.
41. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and this means that any criminal conviction, including spent convictions, must be made known at the time of the application.

Hours: Saturday and Sunday, from 10.00 am to 6.30 pm, 16 hours per week.

Pay: £12.20 per hour
