Resident CaretakerOur client is seeking a trustworthy, reliable and hardworking Resident Caretaker who will enjoy working in a friendly school environment. This live-in role will be responsible for a wide range of duties and responsibilities connected with the smooth, efficient and effective running of the school including.Job Description:Carrying out security procedures for school buildings and grounds.Specifically closing and lockdown of school premises, including gates, doors, windows, fire exits etcChecking the proper operation and function of alarms and fire equipmentReporting acts of vandalism and patrolling the site as requiresAssisting with minor repairs as requiredActing as a keyholder in cases of alarm activation out of normal school hoursResponsible for the cleaning and safe and efficient working of the swimming pool plantAssist the Head groundsman for approximately 40% of the working day with grass cutting and leaf pick up in the AutumnWork closely with the drivers to act as relief driver as and when necessaryRegularly inspect the site and its operation to ensure Health & Safety practises are adhered toAssist the Maintenance Supervisor with moving such items of furniture/equipment as requiredPerson Specification:Previous experience in a similar role is an advantageFull drivers license (with no more than 6 points) and use of a vehicle is essentialAble to effectively organise own work and operate as loan worker.Both orally and in written form and to understand and interpret written instructionsA proven record of a high level of attendance at work.Polite, courteous and calm under pressureAble to show initiative and work proactively to ensure the smooth running of the siteAn organised approach and excellent time management skillsHours of work: 40 Hours per week, year-round.During term time the hours will be 7.00am-10.30am and then 2.00pm - 6.30pm plus locking up each weekday evening at 9.30pm.During the school holidays the hours will be 8.00am to 4.00pm, 5 days per week, plus locking up shortly after 4pm. There may be occasion when some aspects need to be locked a little later due to contractors being onsite for scheduled works.Additional Information:Car driver is essential as no public transport links25 days paid holiday per year plus Bank Holidays and a Christmas closure period.Onsite accommodation provided 2 or 3 bedroom apartment.Generous contributory pension schemeRefreshments and lunch provided during term timeCycle to work scheme for staff membersParking for staff members is provided onsite
