They are committed to innovation and excellence and are looking for a Senior Commercial Technology Lawyer to join their dynamic team.
Position Overview: As a Senior Commercial Technology Lawyer, the successful candidate will provide the group, including entities in Europe and North America, with legal advice on commercial contracts, IT/IP/AI data issues, data protection (including GDPR), and other regulatory matters. They will work closely with senior stakeholders to shape commercial decisions and support the continued growth of the business.
Responsibilities:
* Advise on legal implications of business activities, including system enhancements, AI, and international expansion.
* Structure, negotiate, draft, review, and advise on a range of commercial technology contracts.
* Provide guidance on data issues, particularly GDPR, and IP elements of service offerings.
* Develop new template documents for service offerings.
* Plan and implement legal workflows and improvements.
* Stay updated on legal developments and update templates and policies accordingly.
* Build relationships of trust with client areas and understand business needs.
* Manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
* Provide contract/legal development training to the business.
* Report to and support the Group General Counsel.
* Mentor mid-level and junior members of the legal team.]
Candidate Profile:
* UK Qualified Lawyer with a strong academic background.
* 6-8 years post-qualification experience.
* Strong private practice training at a reputable law firm.
* In-house experience required; experience in software or new technology is desirable.
* Strong negotiation and drafting skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work in a commercial environment and understand business needs.
* Strong commercial acumen and motivation to contribute to business success.
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
* Desire to work proactively in a dynamic legal team with direct access to senior decision-makers.
