Job Summary
Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Care Home Administrator to join the management team at our Hayling Island location. This permanent role offers a salary of £30,500 per year and requires working every other Saturday, with a weekday off.
Responsibilities
* Promote a warm and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors.
* Manage enquiries and conduct showrounds for prospective families, maintaining the customer database to support conversions.
* Support the occupancy and reputation of the care home as part of the community engagement team.
* Assist with recruitment, completing new‑starter checks and arranging inductions.
* Prepare payroll for staff based at the home.
* Provide guidance to employees on queries using HR tools and resources.
* Ensure all personal files remain secure and compliant with policy.
* Attend meetings, produce accurate notes and minutes.
* Maintain complete and accurate staff rotas.
* Manage cash, petty cash and resident fund accounts.
* Update training, supervision and appraisal records on staff files.
* Offer advice on staff development, apprenticeships and qualifications.
Requirements
* Experience in a customer‑facing role.
* Experience in HR administration and recruitment.
* High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
* Strong IT skills – proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Provisional CIPD qualification is desirable.
