We are seeking a dedicated Payroll Clerk to join our team in Harlow Bros Long Whatton. The Payroll Clerk plays a vital role in the day to day running of the accounts team. This will involve collecting time records, calculating overtime, holiday absences etc and processing payroll using sage. What you'll be doing as a Payroll Clerk: Weekly routine Collection of employee time recordings for Long Whatton and I-Beam employees (120 approx.) Assess against individual shift pattern Calculate overtime, absence, holiday, parental leave etc. Process information on Sage payroll - Sage 50 Payroll Professional Generate relevant payroll reports Create HMRC reporting Generate Banking file for uplift to bank for payment by Tuesday each week Weekly Administration Highlight issues where employees not clocking Specific absence or areas of concern Statutory Sick pay summary Boot allowance Filing of paperwork Input weekly journal information Generate overtime reports Maintain employee records on time and attendance system Pension contribution submissions Monthly administration Generate CIS reporting Update HMRC spreadsheet for PAYE and NI reconciliation Generate DoE payment summary Holiday average valuation creation Annual requirements Process Year end Sage and HMRC procedures Create Gender Pay Gap reports Update Apprenticeship levy values Harlow Bros Ltd. - Monthly payroll Create weekly summaries for all branch employees (60 approx.) including overtime, absence and holidays Create summary for monthly reporting for previous month; overtime paid following month earned Highlight current month absence and adjustments Potential additional work Generate summary to be sent to external payroll company (Byte) in relation to Harlow Bros monthly salaries Liaise with Byte to answer any questions or issues Check payslips when generated and authorise payroll files for departmental analysis Create and post monthly salary journal Support annual review documentation, departmental budget estimates and Holiday accrual Support file creation for Gender Pay Gap Support annual documentation for Death in Service and Accidental cover
* Experience using Microsoft Office
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Experience with Sage preferred but not essential.
