The Client:
United Utilities Water Limited, a FTSE 100 regulated water and wastewater company, serving over eight million customers and 200,000 businesses across the North West of England, are looking to appoint a Rapid Response Director. This appointment reflects several factors, including changing climate and weather events, growing customer and regulator expectations, and increased demand for visibility and responsiveness in the communities it serves.
The Role:
Reporting into Chief Operating Officer, this role will span Incident Control Center (ICC), Incident Management and External Stakeholder Management. Main duties are to:
* Provide senior leadership and support to the ICC shift teams
* Lead the response to escalated incident responses
* Maintain oversight of activity across the network, owning all external messaging during incidents
* Take ownership of escalated complaints and customers that require management over a weekend
This Director will operate on condensed Friday-Monday working hours, rather than the traditional working week.
The Candidate:
We are seeking an experienced senior Director with deep knowledge and skill in response management from a comparable sector. They will be able to scan the external environment to proactively anticipate and manage reputational risk and have confidence to make decisions under pressure. Strong customer, media and stakeholder management skills as well as advanced communication skills would be highly desired.
