OLG Receruiment are currently lookin for 2 welders and 2 platers for our client in Scunthorpe. This is a contract position for 12 days. Ideally you will be local to Scunthorpe.
Job Summary
We are seeking skilled Welders and Platers to join our clients team. The successful candidates will be responsible for performing precise welding and plating tasks, primarily using Stick and MIG welding techniques, to fabricate and assemble metal components. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and mechanical aptitude are essential. Candidates should possess a strong understanding of fabrication processes, sheet metal work, and the use of various hand and power tools. Responsibilities
* Execute TIG welding and other welding techniques to join metal components with precision and consistency.
* Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
* Work with sheet metal and other materials to meet project specifications and quality standards.
* Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues during fabrication or assembly processes.
* Measure materials accurately using basic math skills to ensure proper fit and alignment.
* Assist in the preparation of materials, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces prior to welding or assembly.
* Follow safety protocols diligently while operating equipment and handling materials in the workshop environment.
* Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
Requirements
* Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
* Knowledge of sheet metal work, assembly processes, and basic mechanical principles.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics accurately.
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of fabrication and welding tasks.
* Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication projects.
* Mechanical knowledge relevant to assembly lines or manufacturing environments is desirable.
* Prior experience working with various materials including sheet metal is preferred.
