My Client is recruiting for a Senior/Principal Process Engineer in the Water Sector. They are looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a Senior or Principal Process Engineer. You will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead (Process) or the Senior Design Manager. The programme of work across various water and wastewater schemes is expected to be around £280M.
As Senior/Principal Process Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
* Producing high-quality process design documents and drawings, including process calculations, P&IDs, PFDs, and Control Philosophy, considering health & safety requirements, specifications, and standards;
* Ensuring compliance with regulations and client standards for each project;
* Conducting and coordinating Process Safety studies, a critical element of our design;
* Coordinating design with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, EICA, environmental) for complete project delivery;
* Supporting other disciplines with process-related input and fostering collaboration within the team;
* Providing technical support during delivery and commissioning;
* Reporting to the Regional Discipline Lead and Design Manager;
* Considering the total cost of design solutions, including time, materials, erection, and impact on other disciplines;
* Assisting the design manager with deliverables at different stages;
* Mentoring graduates and supporting their development;
* Maintaining project files and records;
* Promoting a customer-focused culture within the team;
* Ensuring health and safety considerations are integrated into the design.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Knowledge of clean water, wastewater, reuse, and sludge treatment processes;
* Degree or similar in Process/Chemical Engineering, ideally chartered or working towards it;
* Proven experience in process calculations like mass, energy, and hydraulic balances;
* Ability to work clearly under pressure;
* Organized and autonomous, capable of meeting deadlines;
* Effective communication skills;
* Ability to rationalize and produce cost-effective process designs;
