Job Description
Following the planned separation from Smiths Group and acquisition by CVC Capital Partners, we are building a standalone finance function to support our next chapter of growth. This is a unique opportunity to shape and lead the Treasury function for a newly independent global business.
The Role
As Head of Treasury, you will have overall responsibility for Smiths Detection’s financing strategy and operations. This is a critical leadership role, tasked with designing and implementing a new Treasury function from the ground up. You will manage liquidity, foreign exchange risk, funding structures, and treasury systems to ensure robust financial control and compliance across a global footprint.
This role can be base in either Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, or London, Blackfriars.
Key Responsibilities
* Build the Treasury Function: Design and implement processes, policies, and systems for a standalone treasury operation post-separation.
* Liquidity Management: Develop short-term cash flow forecasting, implement cash pooling, and optimise group liquidity.
* FX & Risk Management: Identify and mitigate currency and interest rate risks using appropriate hedging strategies and ensure IFRS9 compliance.
* Intragroup Funding: Structure and oversee intercompany loans and netting arrangements aligned with tax and financing strategy.
* Treasury Systems: Implement a Treasury Management System and maintain a database for loans, guarantees, and financial instruments.
* Trade Finance: Manage credit lines, bonds, and guarantees to support global operations.
* Policy & Governance: Own treasury policies and ensure compliance with covenants and regulatory requirements.
* Leadership: Manage and develop a Treasury Analyst and collaborate with senior stakeholders across Finance, Tax, and the wider business.

Qualifications
About You
* ACT qualified (or equivalent) with 5–10 years’ experience in a multinational corporate treasury role.
* Proven ability to manage liquidity, FX risk, and funding structures.
* Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and project management skills.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Experience in carve-outs, M&A, or private equity-backed environments is highly desirable.
