Transport links around the Nursery - Bus links and train station near by Your duties and responsibilities will include; As a key worker, you will be responsible for building positive, secure relationships with a small group of children and their families. Ensure that each child's individual needs are met by providing emotional support, promoting their well-being, and helping them feel safe and valued within the setting. Observe children's development, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with parents and carers to share progress and address any concerns. Responsibilities include: Developing trusting relationships with children and their families. Supporting children's emotional, social, physical development. Carrying out regular observations and assessments of children's learning and development. Monitoring progress and identifying any additional support needs. Maintaining confidential and accurate records. Working in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals. Promoting safeguarding, health, safety, and the welfare of all children. Planning A childcare key worker is responsible for planning activities that support children's learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and individual interests and abilities. Responsibilities include: Planning engaging and age-appropriate activities. Using observations and assessments to inform future planning. Supporting all areas of learning and development. Adapting activities to meet individual needs and promote inclusion. Encouraging children's independence, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Evaluating activities and children's progress to improve future planning. Supporting Daily Routines Supporting daily routines helps children feel secure, develop independence, and establish healthy habits. A key worker ensures routines are followed consistently while responding to each child's individual needs. Responsibilities include: Welcoming children and supporting smooth transitions into the setting. Assisting with personal care, including toileting, handwashing, and changing when required. Supporting meal and snack times while promoting healthy eating and good manners. Encouraging independence through self-care and daily tasks. Supervising rest and sleep routines where appropriate. Organising indoor and outdoor play opportunities. Supporting tidy-up times and helping children take responsibility for their environment. Maintaining a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment. Following health and safety, safeguarding, and hygiene procedures at all times. Providing comfort and reassurance to children during changes or challenging situations.
