Bury Music Service is a not-for-profit organisation and the leading provider of music education in Bury. We provide weekly lessons during the day (in schools) and evenings (at the centre) for children and adults across the borough. We have a wide range of ensembles at our music centre for our young people to join, performing regularly across the region.
Our professional music teachers are extremely passionate with a friendly and encouraging approach to learning.
Upper Strings, Woodwind, Guitar and Piano Peripatetic Teachers
Bury Music Service are looking for teachers who are motivated to teach both beginners and more experienced musicians and to share their love of music with the next generation.
We are seeking individuals to teach both individual and group lessons, part time, in schools and at our music centre. We are looking for candidates:
* With the ability to show high levels of musicianship and knowledge of their instrument.
* Who are capable of enthusing and motivating young people of all musical abilities and backgrounds
* Able to deliver high quality and engaging instrumental lessons for all age groups
* With experience of teaching whole class programmes (First access) a plus
* With experience of working with ensembles a plus
* To show dedication to the musical development of our students
Other Key Requirements:
* Applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and have use of a car in order to travel between venues across Bury
* An enhanced DBS check is required
We are looking for talented, experienced curriculum teachers to deliver classroom music in primary and secondary schools in our borough. This is an exciting role for music curriculum specialists to join a dynamic team committed to changing lives through music education.
We are looking for individuals who can teach music in a range of schools, who can lead choirs/school ensembles and create excellent working relationships in schools.
Other Key Requirements:

Youth Orchestra Musical Director
We are looking for a talented, dynamic conductor to lead our flagship ensemble, Bury Youth Orchestra. Our orchestra performs a wide variety of music and enjoys performing at least three times per year. We have returned from a successful tour in the South of France in July 2023 and are looking to plan a new tour for summer 2025.
Bury Youth Orchestra rehearses on Friday evenings 5-7pm at our Music Centre in Bury, Greater Manchester.
