Our neonatal unit consists of 9 cots, 2 ITU/HDU and 7 special care. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Neonatal Deputy Charge Nurse to join our team, with a strong focus on education and staff development. This role is ideal for a neonatal nurse who is passionate about supporting learning, promoting evidence‑based practice, and helping colleagues grow in confidence and competence.
You will work alongside the Charge Nurse to support the smooth daily running of the Neonatal Unit while acting as a visible clinical leader and role model. A key part of the role is leading education within the unit, providing teaching, supervision, mentorship, and ensuring high‑quality learning experiences for students, new staff and those progressing through neonatal competencies. You will champion continuous development, contribute to induction and training programmes, and help shape our approach to staff learning and clinical excellence.
We are seeking someone who is approachable, supportive, knowledgeable and committed to delivering safe, compassionate, family‑centred neonatal care. You should have substantial neonatal experience and ideally hold or be working towards relevant teaching or mentorship qualifications. Candidates are expected to hold a Neonatal Nurse Quality in Service (QIS) Certificate.
We would be delighted to hear from you if you are enthusiastic about developing others and contributing to a positive, forward‑thinking neonatal service.
