Mission Description
As a Laboratory Technician you will play a vital role in our Department, contributing to the safety and performance of landing gear components through rigorous mechanical, corrosion and forensic testing. This fast‑paced, hands‑on role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, learning and being part of a collaborative and technically expert team. You will work closely with colleagues not only in Gloucester, but across Safran Landing Systems’ global network of M&P laboratories, providing critical support to engineering, production and in‑service teams.

Responsibilities
* Conduct corrosion testing and mechanical testing including tensile, fatigue and hardness tests to evaluate material properties.
* Support forensic investigations of in‑service landing gear components to determine root causes of damage.
* Prepare metallographic samples for microscopic examination and analysis.
* Perform chemical analyses in the laboratory to assess material composition and contamination.
* Document test procedures and results in line with internal quality standards and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with engineers and specialists to interpret results and recommend actions.
* Support continuous improvement of laboratory processes and practices.
Qualifications – Essential
* Hands‑on, practical mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
* Eagerness to learn new processes.
* Pro‑active, organised and able to work collaboratively as part of a multi‑skilled team.
* High level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
* Adaptability to changing priorities and willingness to take on new challenges.
Qualifications – Desirable (but not essential)
* Experience working to procedures in a quality‑controlled environment.
