6 Month Fixed Term Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist
Join an innovative community CPFT Speech and Language Therapy Team to provide independent care for patients with dysphagia and communication difficulties. The role requires a qualified Speech and Language Therapist capable of working autonomously with outpatient and domiciliary patients, and supporting community hospital wards.
Responsibilities
* Independently assess, differentially diagnose, and develop and implement specialist care programmes for patients with Speech, Language and swallowing needs in the in‑patient/day rehab/outpatient and domiciliary settings.
* Work effectively within the integrated care team structure and liaise appropriately with members of the MDT and other agencies.
* Ensure accurate and timely written records are kept in accordance with Trust policy and HCPC guidance, and report on any issues as appropriate.
* Contribute to the prioritisation and triage of patients within clinical pathways.
* Provide specialist advice to all members of the multi‑disciplinary team, service users and others regarding changes to current care plans and patients’ progress.
* Work with clinical assistants within the team, delegating work in line with clinical competencies and providing clinical supervision and support.
Requirements
• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist experienced in independent practice with dysphagia patients.
• Ability to travel independently across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, meeting strict time deadlines.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle; public transport is not acceptable for this role.
