Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Head, Wholesale Banking & Financing Solution and Deputy Head of Institutional Banking & Distribution in driving IB business strategy in Sub Saharan Africa.
* Manage existing African FI relationships and enhance the profitability of the unit in line with the Bank’s Risk Appetite, IBFI budget, targets, and global strategy.
Key Skills/Experience:
* Support Relationship Managers in achieving departmental budgets.
* Drive business origination by marketing new relationships and onboarding clients.
* Prepare and deliver credit applications for review by Credit Risk, with strong financial statement analysis skills.
* Ensure compliance with KYC/KYB requirements, full onboarding, and reviews.
* Coordinate with the Business Risk Review team for timely client outreach and reviews.
* Monitor financial statement review deadlines and obtain necessary approvals.
* Prepare limit extension requests and manage system limits accordingly.
* Distribute weekly Financial Institutions Limits Report.
* Handle customer queries efficiently.
* Support prospecting, due diligence, monitoring, and portfolio management.
Experience / Knowledge:
* Experience with Financial Institutions, UK regulatory environment, and credit analysis.
* Understanding of International Trade Finance.
* Experience in the African market is advantageous.
* French language skills desirable.
* Knowledge of financial statement analysis for banks and risk rating tools like Moody’s.
