To work as a member of the Faculty of Nursing Education and Research (FNER) in conjunction with the Paediatric Renal and Surgical teams within Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC), ensuring high standards of clinical care are maintained through the application of evidence-based practice. This role will develop and provide effective nursing education and competency-based training for nursing staff working in Paediatric Nephrology and areas caring for paediatric surgical patients within BRHC, the South-West Region and Nationally.
The post holder will provide clinical expertise in Paediatric Nephrology and surgery, providing support for nurses within this clinical environment. They will work autonomously whilst with multi professionals across the Hospital and Region
1. Provide specialist education and training for nurses caring for nephro-urology patients, supporting new and existing staff to develop their skills, knowledge, competence, and confidence in the care of infants and children with nephro-urological conditions
2. Facilitate and coordinate paediatric surgical nursing education in collaboration with Clinical Support Facilitators and other members of the surgical team.
3. Support the professional development of nursing staff across both nephro-urology and paediatric surgery, enabling them to reach their full potential within their respective specialties.
