Director, Trial Management, Medical Affairs Delivery Unit – High Wycombe, United Kingdom. Hybrid role requiring onsite presence 3 days a week.


Purpose

The Director leads a team of Trial Delivery Leaders and Trial Delivery Manager Functional Managers within the Global Development Delivery Unit organization. The role oversees staff development, project assignments, workload distribution, and conflict resolution in priority setting and resourcing. It directly influences departmental planning, strategy, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment of goals with organizational and trial objectives. The Director manages clinical trials from early development through registration, approval, and post‑approval, identifying operational challenges across trials and programs and mitigating risks through continuous improvement.


You Will Be Responsible For

* Provide operational leadership and support to Trial Delivery Leaders and Trial Delivery Managers.
* Build a knowledgeable and skilled team with the competencies and capabilities to deliver clinical trials.
* Oversee resource allocation for assigned DAS/TA.
* Promote strong collaboration across cross‑functional teams.
* Set objectives in alignment with company and departmental goals.
* Ensure staff training on procedures and systems associated with their roles.
* Develop a team that consistently achieves strong results through nurturing individual growth, effectively managing performance, and providing guidance.
* Identify and contribute to continuous improvement of clinical processes, systems, and training.
* Mentor and support onboarding of new team members, particularly in Trial Management.
* Foster employee engagement, inclusion, and Credo Behaviors.


Qualifications / Requirements

* BS degree or equivalent; preferred Life Sciences background (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry).
* Minimum 10 years in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or related industries.
* Clinical research operational knowledge and experience across multiple phases of studies (Phase I‑IV).
* Minimum 2 years prior line management experience or 3‑5 years matrixed leadership experience.
* Excellent decision‑making, analytical, project planning/management, communication, and presentation skills.
* Strong financial analysis and decision‑making skills.
* Track record of developing talent, leading cross‑functional, global teams, and driving complex changes.
* Travel up to 10%, both domestic and internationally.
