The role
As an Environmental Practitioner, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be at the heart of our mission to ensure environmental compliance across HMNB Clyde. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact -supporting operational activities and projects with expert environmental guidance that protects our people, our operations, and the planet.
Day-to-day you’ll be:
1. Providing expert advice and guidance on environmental compliance to personnel across HMNB Clyde
2. Maintaining and developing our Environmental Management System in line with ISO:
3. Investigating environmental incidents and near misses to prevent recurrence
4. Educating and raising awareness to prevent environmental risks
5. Reviewing and updating environmental documentation to ensure relevance and compliance
This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides flexible working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Environmental Practitioner
6. Strong understanding of environmental awareness and best practicable means
7. Knowledge of statutory, regulatory and standards compliance
8. Experience with policy, procedures and process development
9. Auditing for compliance
Qualifications for the Environmental Practitioner
10. Minimum HND in an Environmental Studies related course
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
