About Acurable
Acurable is a fast-growing, venture-backed MedTech startup based in London. We design accurate, user-friendly wearable medical devices that enable patients to be diagnosed and monitored at home. Our goal is to improve health outcomes, reduce pressure on healthcare systems, and transform lives.
Our flagship product, AcuPebble SA100, became the first medical device in the world to receive CE marking for the automated diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnoea at home and has also received FDA clearance for home sleep apnoea testing. It is now being used across healthcare systems in the UK, Europe, and the United States, and has been recommended for use in the NHS by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).
AcuPebble is the result of over 15 years of research led by our founder, Professor Esther Rodriguez-Villegas, at Imperial College London. The technology has been recognised as a breakthrough in respiratory medicine and has won several prestigious awards, including an XPrize, IET Innovation Award, WA4STEAM Award, and Med-Tech Innovation Award.
Our work has been featured in global media, including BBC News, Bloomberg TV, Fox News, and TechCrunch. We recently featured on The Sunday Times Tech 100 list, and AcuPebble SA100 was selected for the NHS Innovation Accelerator as one of the top innovations to scale across the NHS.
We are continuing to expand the reach of our technology to support the diagnosis and management of other serious chronic conditions such as COPD, asthma, and epilepsy.
Acurable has a small but ambitious team with a clear mission. We are looking for exceptional people who share our vision and are ready to help us shape the future of healthcare.
Job Overview
We're looking for a thoughtful, curious Fullstack Engineer to join our software team. You'll work closely with our engineers, clinical liaisons, and product experts to help evolve our digital platforms- from device connectivity to data pipelines, patient-facing tools, and clinician dashboards.
This is a hands-on, collaborative role that blends creativity with precision. You'll help design and implement solutions in Javascript/Typescript, building reliable, maintainable systems that meet both technical and medical-grade standards.
You'll also play a key part in supporting our internal systems — occasionally being in the London office to help with IT infrastructure, testing setups, or other on-site needs.
What you'll do:
* Develop and maintain applications across our software ecosystem using Javascript/Typescript.
* Design, build, and evolve RESTful & GraphQL APIs and microservice-based architectures.
* Work with a cross-functional team to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems.
* Write clean, testable, and efficient code - contributing to a strong culture of quality and care.
* Support deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting processes.
* Collaborate with the wider team on product design, data flow, and user experience.
* Occasionally assist with IT and infrastructure needs in our London office.
Who you are:
* You love solving real-world problems through technology - especially when it makes a difference to people's lives.
* You care about clarity, simplicity, and collaboration more than personal credit or competition.
* You're curious, humble, and eager to learn from others.
* You take pride in well-crafted code and thoughtful systems.
* You have solid experience with ES2016+, Typescript, and asynchronous programming concepts.
* You have strong familiarity React and modern front-end frameworks.
* You have knowledge of testing tools such as Jest, Jasmine, Sinon, or Selenium.
* You are experienced in building responsive, cross-browser applications with HTML/CSS.
* You're comfortable communicating in English and working as part of a small, dynamic team.
* Experience in healthcare, regulated environments, or device integration is a plus - but not essential.
Why you should apply
* Work on technology that has a real impact on people's health and wellbeing.
* Join a smart, collaborative, and mission-driven team who genuinely care about what they do.
* Flexible working hours with a mix of remote and in-office collaboration in London.
* Regular team gatherings, social events, and opportunities to learn and grow.
* Competitive salary, generous holiday allowance, and an environment that values balance, purpose, and trust.
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. At Acurable, we're not looking for "rock stars" or "ninjas"- just bright, grounded people who want to do meaningful work with others who care. Please send your CV and a cover letter/note setting out why you you are interested in working with us.
