Job Description:

Starting salary of £25,000 increasing to £25,500 after 6 months

Full time, permanent role - 35 hours per week
Shifts between 8am-5pm Monday to Friday (shift rotation working 7 hrs per day)

Hybrid

Brighton- Minimum of 1 day per week in the office

Start date 5th January 2026

How you’ll help us make health happen:

As a Customer Service Consultant for Bupa Global you’ll be the first point of contact for our customers. People call for a variety of reasons from sprained ankles to life threatening Illnesses and you’ll need to treat each call with the same level of care and compassion as the last. It can be challenging at times. Day to day you’ll authorise or decline treatment in line with policy coverage and it takes a special mix of empathy and resilience to succeed but it’s also incredibly rewarding, helping people at a time when need when they need it most.

Once you’ve completed your induction, training and are competent in your role you'll also benefit from hybrid working, only needing to go into the office every week. 1. Support customer enquiries through both inbound and outbound calls, ensuring each customer has a great experience whether it’s the first call of the day or the last
2. Pre-authorise or decline treatment in line with Bupa policy coverage. Signpost platinum providers and book appointments for members using our care pathways framework, responding with empathy at all times
3. Accurately maintain our customer database, ensuring all conversations and outcomes are recorded
4. Maintain high professional standards at all times and abide by all regulatory requirements

Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

Some of the skills you’ll need to succeed as a Customer Service Adviser are:

5. Great listening and communication skills with the ability to respond with empathy
6. A mix of flexibility and resilience to deal with a variety of enquiries
7. Confidence using a PC and the ability to multitask though we have a range of support tools designed to help you on the phone with customers.
8. An enthusiastic, positive attitude with a real desire to help others
