Childrens Mental Health Assistant (full time positions available) Hillingdon, West London £ per week (PAYE, Paid weekly. salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications) Start date: Sept 2025 The School and Role A nurturing specialist primary setting in Hillingdon is seeking dedicated Children’s Mental Health Assistants to join their team in supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school provides a structured and therapeutic environment tailored to children with complex emotional and behavioural profiles, often including sensory processing challenges and communication difficulties, such as those linked to autism. As a Mental Health Assistant, you’ll work closely within small classes to ensure each child receives individualised support. You will help pupils engage with their learning while also promoting positive emotional and social development throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities: Provide consistent, compassionate classroom support to pupils with SEMH needs Work collaboratively with teaching staff and therapists to maintain a supportive learning environment Help pupils manage their emotions and behaviours in line with individual education and behaviour plans Foster trusting relationships with pupils to help them feel safe, respected, and valued Requirements: The ideal candidate will: Bring a nurturing, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with additional needs Have experience working with young people who face barriers due to mental health or emotional challenges Ideally have worked in educational, youth work, or care settings with vulnerable children or adolescents Demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusion and supporting personal and academic progress What we offer As a Childrens Mental Health Assistant and part of our team, you benefit from: Excellent daily rates paid using the PAYE system.
