Overview
Join to apply for the Drivers Mate role at GXO Logistics, Inc. Colchester (CO3 8DW). This is a full-time, permanent position on a two-week rotating shift pattern: Week 1 – Monday to Friday; Week 2 – Sunday to Thursday, with a start time of 11:00 and a contracted 40 hours per week.
Work as part of the Store to Home team delivering products to customer premises. You’ll be on a two-person delivery team with responsibilities that support customer satisfaction and efficient deliveries.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a two-person team delivering products to customer premises on a multidrop basis — an average of 16 drops per day off peak and 24 drops per day in peak season.
* Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle, as well as loading and unloading of vehicles as required.
* Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition.
* Keep customers informed of estimated delivery times and communicate any issues in a polite and courteous manner.
Qualifications
* Experience of dealing with multi-drop home delivery is preferred but not essential.
* Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal.
* Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing.
* Can-do attitude with a knack for problem solving.
* Willingness to undertake pre-employment DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
* Be prepared to commute to Colchester (CO3 8DW) for the required shift pattern.

Pay and benefits include: £12.21 hourly rate (approx. £25,396.80 annual salary), overtime pay of £18.32 per hour (paid after 40 hours), holiday pay, and a Workplace pension.
