Job title: Tech Bar Engineer
Location: Onsite London (X5 days week)
Clearance: You will be required to hold Home Office SC clearance / NPPV3 or apply for it if successful for the role.
You will report to the Tech Bar Team Leader / Manager and assist in ensuring the smooth running of the project using the following criteria as guidance.
The Tech Bar site team will respond to user incidents and other nearby sites within SLA, and occasionally support London HQ Tech Bar to fulfill incidents and change requests.
Skills preferred (training will be provided where necessary, though ability in some of these areas is essential):
* Ability to support and diagnose problems on Android phones, iPhones, laptops, desktops, video conferencing equipment and peripherals.
* Ability to repair laptops and desktops.
* Excellent admin skills to complete all relevant paperwork/databases.
* Knowledge of ServiceNow call handling system.
You will also need to demonstrate:
* Being security minded.
* Good verbal and written communication.
* Create and maintain processes and work instructions as required.
* Function efficiently alone but also fit into a motivated and experienced team.
* Ensure all call stacks for your sites are monitored at all times, including lunch breaks.
* Escalate calls that are in danger of going over contractual target and bring them to the Deskside Manager/Team Leader when necessary.
* Understand the importance of VIP calls and ensure they are dealt with and updated within agreed timescales.
* Flag to the Tech Bar Manager/Team Leader any areas where targets are in danger of not being met.
* Clearly communicate all potential issues and problems to the Tech Bar Manager/Team Leader.
* Service issues.
* Resource issues.
* Performance issues.
* Complete all ServiceNow updates in a timely fashion and meet required guidelines and expectations.
* Update the asset system accurately as per contractual requirements.
* Check goods on receipt and place them in the storeroom, labelled and asseted if necessary.
* Meet objectives and contribute to team objectives.
* Complete all relevant administration (SST, sick certs, leave requests, etc.) in a timely fashion.
* Identify and discuss areas for improvement with your Team Leader/Tech Bar Manager.
* Identify and discuss potential risks with the Team Leader/Tech Bar Manager.
* Identify cost saving opportunities/efficiencies.
You will also be expected to manage your time to ensure tasks are completed; if not, bring this to the attention of the Team Leader/Tech Bar Manager and discuss solutions.
