BEC Operator - Shifts

Role description
To maintain a supply of materials to support each decorating process enabling each line to operate to its full capacity
Responsibilities:
* Comply with Company Health and Safety Procedures in order to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you. Carry out housekeeping as required in accordance with Company Hygiene Rules.
* All lines supplied with materials (naked glass and cardboard etc.) ensuring each line is run to its full capacity
* Responsible for problem solving and fault finding within the standard operating procedures. Ensure customer’s packing specifications are achieved
* Removal of cullet and contaminated materials to the correct location on site. To operate a palletiser or to drive a forklift truck
* Must ensure that each forklift truck is maintained in accordance with the supplier’s schedule
* Taking ownership that all decorated ware is packed fit for transport to our customers, responsible for checking all cold end equipment (squeeze testers and coating sprays etc.)
* All checks documented and recorded by operator, viewing of ware on the production line and de-brief all team members at shift change overs
Required skills / qualifications:
* Interpret Packaging Specification information
* Ability to pack glass manually in event of equipment failure
* Basic mechanical malfunctions
* Container defects
* Although not essential Mechanical knowledge/experience would be preferred, as there may be opportunities to join BEC engineering via on-the-job training & departmental succession planning

* Salary based on Grade 4 of the harmonised pay scales. Salary min £32,000 - £34,488 max.
