The Role:
Teaching Personnel are looking for someone to support the department in developing the teaching and learning of Performing Arts (Music and Drama) in accordance with school policies and in pursuit of the highest standards of student achievement.The school is a dynamic and forward-thinking secondary school committed to providing an exceptional education to their diverse student body. Key Tasks:
* Prepare and deliver lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities
* Mark work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and development
* Research new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise and write new curriculum materials
* Prepare pupils for qualifications and external examinations
* Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour
* Communicate with parents and carers over pupils' progress
About You:
* Well-qualified graduate with appropriate degree
* PGCE/Qualified Teacher Status
* Experience with curriculum development work
* Experience across the age and ability range
* Ability to work in a team Excellent classroom skills
* Creativity and flexibility
* Commitment to developing teaching and learning
* Knowledge of the Drama and Music Curriculum and assessment
* The ability to develop a philosophy of high aspiration and expectation for every student giving cognisance to SEND, equal opportunities, diversity, ethos and student management.
* The ability to analyse performance and to articulate reasons behind successful achievement and poor performance and successfully address this.
