Major Job Functions
1. Preventative Maintenance Servicing (carrying out routine servicing of equipment in line with manufacturers guidelines, taking routine oil samples) 75%
2. Machine Inspection (carry out visual / mechanical analysis of machine condition highlighting developing issues with systems and components including hydraulic, electrical, powertrain, mechanical) 20%
3. Minor Repairs (complete minor repairs as identified during machine inspection, carry out installation of telematic systems, carry out undercarriage inspections) 5%

*This is a field-based role. All drivers must hold a full driving licence for at least 2 years (eligibility subject to DVLA licence check).
*Working Hours - 43hrs per week (flexible start and finish times). Monday – Friday, with 1 Saturday in 3 at overtime rate.
Specific Skills
The job requires basic knowledge of Engines, Hydraulics, Powertrain, and Vehicle Electrics/Electronics related to servicing and repair of heavy mobile plant or similar equipment.
Accountability
Attend customer locations as advised, perform preventive maintenance, liaise with service controller and customer, ensure work is completed to high standards and equipment is safe, and complete all paperwork accurately and timely. Take care of company vehicle and equipment.
Education and Experience
Approximately 3 years of direct experience or related engineering work (e.g., car mechanic, HGV fitter, agricultural engineer, REME, military vehicle experience), or a formal apprenticeship with at least C&G level 1. Training in health & safety is desirable but not essential.
