Job summary:
Due to expansion, we are currently recruiting NHS 111 Pathways Accredited Clinicians to join our NHS 111 East Midlands team.
Responsibilities:
1. Assessing callers with a wide spectrum of clinical conditions
2. Advising patients on next steps and referring them on to further care when appropriate
You will be guaranteed the clinical autonomy to deliver safe, effective and patient focused care. You will be making a real difference to patients by utilising your clinical knowledge supported by assessment software to carry out telephone triage; assessing patients presenting symptoms, advising them on next steps and referring them on to further care when appropriate.
Person Specification:
We would welcome applications from capable, proactive and experienced NHS Pathways 111 accredited registered nurses, paramedics or pharmacists who have excellent communication skills, are calm under pressure and enjoy working within a team environment.
Experience Required:
3. Nurse triage/telephone advice experience and competence
4. Significant post registration training/consolidation & experience in at least two healthcare settings including one in an aspect of adult general care
5. Broad clinical knowledge base
6. Evidence of continuous training, learning and development
7. Good level of PC literacy
8. Effective communication skills
9. Effective negotiation skills
10. Ability to obtain and process and accurately document patient/caller information
11. Sound clinical decision making capabilities ; ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills in clinical care
12. Effective time management; able to prioritise patient care and tasks appropriately
13. Ability to work under pressure
14. Demonstrable interest in, and ability to, support, coach and mentor others
15. Able to demonstrate initiative and motivation in the highly skilled area of caring for patients via telephony/IT systems
16. Accredited NHS Pathways user
Desirable
17. Recognised Minor Illness, Injuries certificate
18. Mentor/coaching qualification
19. Prescribing qualification
*Additional Info:
20. For remote working, you must be NGS 111 pathways trained with at least 12 months current experience and working on at least version 29 to be considered for the remote role
21. Site based roles do not require you to be pathways trained, this is provided in a training programme onsite
