Whatyou’ll be doing:
* Acting asthe electrical SME providing technical leadership and guidance to arange of cross discipline internal and external stakeholdersincluding equipmentsuppliers
Managing the electricalinterface with the electrical power system ensuring that a best forprogramme approach isadopted Technical ownership of theend to end delivery of key technology readiness projects essentialin demonstrating an appropriate level of maturity is achieved inthe end product prior to platformintegration Supporting technicaldelivery of facility requirements needed to deliver technologyreadiness projects including the facilities to support the endproduct verification and validationactivities Undertaking technical riskanalysis and developing risk mitigation plans in support ofequipment delivery into the SSNAplatform Supporting the developmentand resilience planning for the SSNA Steam IDTs engineering teamensuring succession planning is in place in support of an enduringSQEP capability

Essential
* Relevant1st degree in Electrical Engineering BSc (Hons) / BEng (Hons) /MEng (Hons)
Chartered Engineer (CEng) orworking towardChartership Knowledge of the integrationof power electronic conversion equipment into power system designs(Inverters, rectifiers, Active Front End, filterinteractions) Knowledge and experience ofkey Power system interface requirements (power system stability,power quality and protectionco-ordination)
* Experience in developing and delivering power system /equipment level verification and validation plans (includingtechnology readiness levelstrategies)
Knowledge of the completeengineering life cycle of delivery an equipment or system in acomplex engineering environment with many competing requirements(requirement generation through to test andcommissioning)
Desirable
Relevant 2nd specialiseddegree or further education in Electrical Engineering (powersystems / power electronics / electrical machine design) e.g.MSc(Eng) / MPhil(Eng) / PhD /EngD Knowledge of permanentmagnet rotatingmachines Knowledge of Power SystemAnalysis of AC and DC systems and modelling of Generation andcontrol: Generators, AVRs, Govenors/Speedcontrollers Knowledge of the interfacerequirements of power system control and instrumentation for keyequipment’s and components within a power systemdesign Submarine operatorexperience

TheSSNA Steam Integrated Delivery Team (SIDT): You will work as the Electrical Subject Matter Expert(SME) within SSNA’s Steam Integrated Delivery Team (SIDT). The SIDTis tasked with delivering key equipment into the SSNA platform,which is novel to a submarine environment. Due to the novelty ofthe equipment there is a need to support equipment delivery withadditional parallel technology maturity enablement plans. This is aunique and exciting role that offers the opportunity to shape howthe SIDT delivers the challenge! The role offers significantdevelopment in all areas from requirement generation through todevelopment of verification and validation plans along with thefacilities required to enable timely equipment delivery andparallel technologyrealisation.
