Job Overview
Our market-leading Food Industry client is seeking a HSE Manager to join their team in the Widnes/Runcorn Area on a days-based schedule, due to increased demand and continuous site improvements.

Role Responsibilities
* Maintain current knowledge of HSE legislation and advise management and staff accordingly.
* Operate as the sole HSE representative, reporting to the Site Director and collaborating with Senior Management on HSE matters.
* Develop and implement the site HSE management system, policies, and procedures to meet legislative requirements and achieve HSE targets.
* Ensure effective implementation of the HSE strategy within budget.
* Identify and support internal and external training opportunities.
* Maintain records for safe systems of work, hazard spotting, audits, accident reporting, and committee meetings.
* Manage safe systems for contractors and visitors.
* Support risk assessments, coaching colleagues on their completion and upkeep.
* Ensure PPE compliance based on usage requirements.
* Investigate accidents and liaise with stakeholders such as HSE, insurance, and occupational health teams.
* Report HSE statistics and CSR metrics regularly to Group HSE.
* Monitor environmental impact and implement improvement initiatives.
* Participate in global and UK H&S networks.
Skills and Qualifications
* Degree or professional membership in a relevant H&S field.
* Proven health and safety expertise within manufacturing.
* Strong presentation skills for delivering to peers.
* Experience with innovative HSE improvement strategies.
* Pragmatic approach to continuous improvement.
* Ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
* Awareness of environmental impacts and reduction initiatives.
* Knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility (desirable).
* Experience in the food industry and lean operations/QA/QC (desirable).
