Reporting to: Transport Manager
Hours of Work: Nights: Mon-Thurs: 18:00-6:00 (44 hours per week)
The Role:
This is a challenging role which will primarily involve the loading/unloading of vehicles and conducting self-audit quality checks on completed loads that have been secured onto a vehicle/trailer.
A key feature of this role is the ability to remain flexible, resilient and able to constructively challenge existing practices with a view of consistent improvements across the role.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Loading Bay Operations
- To ensure the safe transfer of manufactured products (including associated parts) from a storage area onto a vehicle/trailer.
- Checking that the load is completed and any missing products or items are highlighted to a supervisor or manager.
- Ensuring the loading bay is compliant with the current Health and Safety Policy.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the entire loading bay (including the vehicle bays).
- To train in both cutting and packing of ancillary products.
Experience and Skills
- Ability to work as a loader within a factory situated transport department.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Planning and organising skills.
- Computer literate
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy in order to fulfil the role.
- Previous experience working within a window manufacturing environment preferred.
