Teaching Assistant – SEN Provision
Location: Birmingham
Duration: Full-time, ongoing
Salary: £95 – £105 per day
About the Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant special needs school in Birmingham. This full-time position is available on a long-term basis and offers an excellent opportunity to work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, including autism (ASD), ADHD, moderate learning difficulties (MLD), and severe learning difficulties (SLD).

What You’ll Be Doing
* Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups with tailored learning activities
* Assisting with sensory regulation and behaviour management strategies
* Building positive relationships that encourage pupil confidence and participation
* Promoting movement and outdoor activity as part of daily routines
* Collaborating with teaching staff and the SENCO to implement support plans
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you should have:
* At least two years of experience supporting children or young people with SEN
* A background in education, childcare, or healthcare
* Familiarity with PECS and/or Makaton (desirable)
* Experience working with pupils with complex needs such as PMLD, SLD, MLD, or ASD
* A Level 1 Safeguarding certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
* Two recent, relevant references from a school or childcare setting
* A valid photo ID (passport or driving licence)
* An enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
