About the Role

Are you an experienced Learning Disability Nurse?

Are you interested in joining a supportive team which will provide opportunities for you to progress and develop your career?

We have an opportunity for a Senior Practitioner band 6 nurse to join the Greenways Assessment and Treatment Unit team in Macclesfield.

Greenways supports adults with learning disabilities and complex needs with short‑term admissions for people requiring intensive assessment and treatment away from home.

As part of a supportive multi‑disciplinary team you will work closely with other community services, using the 6 Cs in practice: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment, and support the development of person‑centred care plans.

Shortlisting to commence 25th November 2025.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of complex care plans for service users and the nursing team in the delivery of care.

You will be required to work within a multi‑professional framework and support the Clinical Lead and Unit Manager with a variety of tasks, including supervisions for allocated members of the team.

The post holder must ensure that the service is based on an ethos of collaborative working between individual service users, carers and all other key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

Post‑registration experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and/or working within an assessment and treatment unit is essential.

Working Hours

Greenways is an inpatient service; therefore working hours are across the 24/7 spectrum on a shift system.

Values & Selection

At CWP we recruit people who can demonstrate the Trust’s values in their everyday life. We use a values‑based approach in interviews, exploring not only what you do but how and why you do it.

Applicants are encouraged to review the Trust’s values before applying and to provide examples that demonstrate these values in the supporting information section of their application.

Equal Opportunities & Support

We are a Disability Confident Employer, Rainbow Badge Scheme member, Veteran Aware organisation, and proud holder of the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award. CWP is committed to inclusive recruitment and welcomes applications from people who have direct experience of accessing our services.

If you have a disability that meets the definition set out in the Equality Act 2010, and you can show that you meet the essential criteria described in the person specification, please answer ‘YES’ to the question: ‘Do you wish to be considered under the Guaranteed Interview Scheme?’

Please inform the team if you have any special support needs to be considered as part of the interview and selection processes.

Application Details

All new starters will commence on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks training to support you to meet the induction / initial training requirements of the role.

Applicants are advised to apply early as if a large number of applications are received we reserve the right to close the vacancy prior to the advertised date.

Good luck with your application. We hope to welcome you to Team CWP very soon!
Please contact the Unit Manager, Marie Joyce, for further information.
