Radley College is pleased to announce a significant restructure within our Housekeeping Department, creating a number of exciting opportunities to join our growing team. This restructure reflects our commitment to raising standards, improving efficiency, and providing the very best environment for all who use our facilities.
We are now recruiting to the following key positions:
* Housekeeping Manager - 37.5 hours per week, all year
* Caretaker Supervisor - 37.5 hours per week, all year
* Weekend Supervisor - 16 hours per week, all year
* Supervisor - 31.25 hours per week, term-time only
Role responsibilities
These new roles are designed to strengthen leadership within the department, ensuring high-quality service across all areas. Successful candidates will be confident in supervising staff, committed to maintaining excellent standards, and ready to play a central part in the next stage of our development. The Housekeeping Manager role involves leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team responsible for cleaning, waste management, minor repairs, event setups, and laundry services across school and commercial operations. Key duties include recruiting, training, and supervising staff; organising rotas and schedules; ensuring health and safety compliance; managing budgets, procurement, and payroll; and monitoring staff performance. The postholder must maintain up-to-date COSHH documentation, provide ongoing training, arrange additional cover during holidays, and oversee the maintenance of cleaning equipment. They will also liaise with HR on staffing matters, negotiate with suppliers for best value, and work closely with the Commercial Team to coordinate housekeeping support for events and residential lettings.
Ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing large cleaning or housekeeping teams, supported by relevant industry qualifications. They should demonstrate strong leadership, organisational, and financial management skills, with proficiency in IT and communication. A solid understanding of health and safety regulations and cleaning best practices is essential. The role requires a proactive, enthusiastic, and solutions-focused approach, along with flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Working pattern
This is an all year position working 37.5 hours per week.
