Mechanical Estimator / M&E Estimator | Building Services | Cambridge | £55,000-£75,000 + Car/Allowance + Bonus + Hybrid

The Role
As a Mechanical Estimator / M&E Estimator, you will prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for mechanical building services projects, working closely with the pre‑construction and delivery teams. Projects typically range from £100k to £3m in value. You will play a key role in the tendering process, ensuring all submissions are commercially sound and technically accurate.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical and M&E building services projects
* Reviewing tender documentation, specifications, and drawings
* Producing accurate take‑offs and pricing schedules
* Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
* Supporting bid submissions and tender presentations
* Working closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth handover to delivery
* Identifying value engineering opportunities where appropriate
Requirements
* Experience working as a Mechanical Estimator or M&E Estimator within the Building Services sector
* Strong understanding of mechanical building services systems
* Experience pricing commercial building services projects
* Good technical and commercial awareness
* Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Stable career history demonstrating consistency and reliability (this role is not suited to frequent job movers)
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within a team

* £55,000‑£75,000
