Job Title: Operations Manager
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours and place of work: Four days a week (32 hours a week), Tuesday to Friday. Standard hours are 10 - 6pm, however we have a flexible approach to working from home and the role will require working occasional evenings and Saturdays.
Salary: £35,000 (£28,000 pro rota)
Reports to: Director

Role Purpose:
The Operations Manager supports the Director and wider team in managing the day-to-day running of the organisation, taking specific responsibility for financial and operational management of Peer. The Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining the organisation's overall budget; producing management accounts; monitoring and managing raised funds; building operations and some areas of charity governance.
The Operations Manager reports to the Director of Peer. The role line manages a Bookkeeper and Gallery and Communications Assistant. The post holder will be required to be an appointed first aider and a fire marshal, as well as a primary keyholder. They may, therefore, be called upon for out of hours emergencies. Appropriate training will be given.

Person Specification
Required
* At least 2 years of financial experience, including setting, monitoring and controlling budgets, producing management accounting reports and cash flow forecasts.
* Experience in the preparation of annual statutory accounts in line with Charities SORP requirements.
* Experience using Quick Books or similar accounting packages.
* Excellent administrative and communications skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience of managing staff, with an ability to build team-spirit in the workplace.
* Proficient IT skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel, Adobe Programmes in Mac.
* Excellent ability to multi-task, delegate and prioritise.
* Confident working independently but also as part of a small team.
* Experience of working in a small-scale arts organisation or charity.
* Experience and interest in charitable governance and developing and implementing policies and procedures.
* Interest in visual arts and working with artists.
