People Assistant
Location: Hybrid – 1 day per week in Birmingham (Tuesdays), 4 days remote
Salary: Up to £35,000 + travel expenses + development support

The Role
We are looking for a People Assistant to help build and support the group’s HR function during a period of rapid growth. This role would suit someone coming from an operations background – such as a Store or General Manager – who is passionate about people, structure, and process, and wants to take the first step into a career in HR.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage onboarding and HR administration, including contracts, compliance, and employee records
* Coordinate large-scale recruitment and induction processes for new store openings
* Support payroll data handovers and maintain HR trackers and templates
* Monitor training completion, probation reviews, and appraisals
* Support employee engagement and communication across multiple teams
* Assist in developing and implementing new systems and processes as the group scales
* Provide day-to-day administrative support to senior operations and HR leadership
About You
* Currently working in hospitality or retail management and looking to transition into HR
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing administrative processes
* Passionate about people, culture, and team development
* Interested or currently studying towards a CIPD qualification
* Proactive, reliable, and able to handle confidential information with discretion
* Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, growing business
