Audit Senior

This is an excellent opportunity for an Audit Senior to join a well-established and reputable firm in Hull. You’ll lead audit engagements, support junior staff, and play a key role in delivering high-quality service to a broad range of clients.
The Role
As Audit Senior, you’ll take ownership of audit assignments from planning through to completion, working directly with managers and partners.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading audit engagements for a varied portfolio of SME and owner‑managed clients
* Planning, performing and completing statutory audits in line with regulatory standards
* Supervising and mentoring junior team members during fieldwork
* Reviewing audit work completed by trainees and semi‑seniors
* Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and supporting working papers
* Identifying risks, control weaknesses and areas for improvement
* Communicating effectively with clients and building strong working relationships
* Ensuring assignments are delivered on time and to a high standard
* Assisting with the training and development of the audit team
This role offers a balanced mix of audit and accounts exposure with the opportunity to progress into Assistant Manager or Manager level.
About You
You’ll be a driven and technically strong auditing professional who enjoys leading engagements and working closely with clients.
You will:
* Be ACA or ACCA qualified or finalist (or have equivalent experience)
* Have experience leading audit assignments within a UK accountancy practice
* Possess strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and FRS 102
* Be confident supervising, training and mentoring junior colleagues
* Have excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills
* Be proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work independently when required
* Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and building client relationships
Experience using cloud‑based accounting and audit software is desirable.
