Production Supervisor
Job Summary
Lead and supervise day‑to‑day processing operations at the Cliffe Vale site. Oversee forward planning, quality, safety and cost controls to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
Location
Cliffe Vale, Stoke
Hours of Work
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (7 am–4 pm). Flexibility required.
Salary
Up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus an annual performance‑based bonus of up to 10 %.

Responsibilities
* Plan, organise and supervise processing operations to meet quality, consistency and quantity targets.
* Lead processing teams in forward planning to satisfy customer requirements.
* Maintain close relationships with shift Charge Hands to achieve daily and weekly production targets.
* Coordinate with Logistics and site administration to manage changing customer demands and expectations.
* Plan and implement engineering activities within budgeted cost.
* Collate information and produce KPI reports and monthly management reports.
* Identify, present and implement CAPEX projects as required.
* Produce all products within agreed budgeted costs.
* Ensure environmental compliance at the Cliffe Vale site.
* Drive continuous improvement, challenging existing practices and implementing change using the iCube philosophy.
* Liaise with the Laboratory Supervisor on production requirements linked to laboratory activities.
* Notify the Site Manager of problems that could delay supply to a customer and inform the Accounts Manager of unbudgeted or increased costs.
* Deputise for the Cliffe Vale Site Manager when required.
* Responsible for Health & Safety, performing regular inspections, documentation and review of risk assessments and promoting company policies.
* Lead processing teams and contractors in promoting safety awareness culture, aiming for a zero accident state.
* Assist with sourcing and induction of contractors, particularly processing contractors, within the annual budgeted cost.
* Responsible for four shift Charge Hands and shift operatives.
* Deal with all incident, accident and disciplinary issues on site that may arise.
* Ensure full and effective communication at all levels, developing and maintaining effective working relationships.
Attributes
* Engineering background with experience of processing plant equipment (filtration, milling, conveyors, mixing, blowing, pumping machines and motors).
* GCSE or A level education, or equivalent.
* Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH).
* Environmental awareness – ISO14001.
* Quality system awareness – ISO9001.
* Previous leadership experience.
* High degree of Health & Safety awareness and competence.
* Legally able to drive in the UK.
* Eager to contribute and get involved.
