Senior Research & Development Scientist – Advanced Staining Reagents
We are looking for a Senior Research & Development Scientist to contribute to the development of immunochemistry technology and advanced staining reagent products as part of Leica Biosystems’ Advanced Staining Reagents R&D team in Newcastle. The position is on‑site and reports to R&D Management.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead projects and collaborate with subject‑matter experts across departments.
* Play a central role in delivering new diagnostic products.
* Design, perform, and interpret experiments on automated staining instrumentation.
* Participate in a diverse range of R&D projects.
* Implement product development processes within a regulatory environment.
Essential Requirements
* Significant laboratory experience in a regulated environment with knowledge of IHC and molecular biology techniques.
* Degree in a scientific subject.
* Knowledge of health and safety in laboratory settings.
* Experience delivering projects in a high‑pressure environment.
Preferred Experience
* IVD development experience and understanding of Design Control.
* Experience working within a regulated environment.
* A higher degree.
