The Opportunity
We’re looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager to help shape the future of Americold’s growth in the UK. This high-impact role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, focused on acquiring new customers and cultivating deeper relationships with existing accounts. You’ll be instrumental in strengthening our market presence, enhancing commercial performance, and ensuring we remain a partner of choice across the cold chain.
What You’ll Do
* Design and implement a robust business development strategy aimed at expanding market share and unlocking new revenue opportunities.
* Actively prospect, engage, and convert potential customers, while deepening engagement with existing clients to drive organic growth.
* Articulate Americold’s value proposition clearly and persuasively, tailoring solutions to meet the unique challenges of each customer.
* Maintain rigorous oversight of the sales pipeline through Salesforce and related CRM platforms, ensuring accuracy and visibility.
* Partner with internal stakeholders — including senior leadership — to optimise pricing strategies, drive profitability, and support regional targets.
* Represent Americold at key industry functions, leveraging your network to generate leads and stay abreast of market developments.
* Provide actionable commercial insights to leadership, contributing to broader strategic initiatives and growth planning.
* Monitor competitor activity, customer trends, and industry dynamics to stay ahead of the curve and identify emerging opportunities.
What You Bring
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business management or a related field.
* 5–8 years’ experience in business development and account management, with proven success in acquiring and retaining high-value clients.
* Solid background in the food, cold chain, or broader logistics sectors, with a strong grasp of supply chain intricacies.
* Deep understanding of the regional food industry landscape and commercial drivers.
* Natural relationship-builder with a consultative, trustworthy, and persuasive approach to client engagement.
