What you'll be doing:
* Playing a key role in systems engineering activities for developing and deploying new products.
* Understanding customer needs, developing, validating, and managing requirements.
* Developing and documenting complex system architectures and sub-systems, ensuring fitness for purpose and customer value.
* Integrating systems with electronic, mechanical, and software sub-systems, understanding impacts across the entire system and interfaces.
* Taking accountability for technical work packages and verifying customer needs through qualification and testing activities.
* Collaborating within a diverse engineering team, providing guidance and coaching.
* Steering new systems development by implementing best practice systems lifecycle processes.
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
* Extensive expertise in the engineering lifecycle.
* Strong understanding of system engineering principles.
* Proficiency with Agile tools such as Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and GIT.
* Experience with interfacing, APIs, and networking protocols (TCP/UDP).
* Experience in deploying and managing virtualized environments.
Desirable:
* Knowledge of .NET/Core, C#, and Ansible.
* Experience working to high standards of technical assurance and quality.
* Awareness of maritime combat systems.
* Experience with relational databases (MySQL) on Windows/Linux platforms.
