The National Trust White Cliffs of Dover Property stretches along 10 km of the iconic White Cliffs Heritage Coast located in the Kent Downs National Landscape and aspiring UNESCO Cross-Channel Global Geopark. It comprises of more than 500 ha of coast and countryside, starting west of Dover at Lydden Spout, heading East to South Foreland and St. Margaret’s Bay before ending at Kingsdown Leas. Our land holding covers SSSI and SAC chalk grassland and woodland. The main visitor area at Langdon Cliffs sees around 500 000 visitors a year.As the Area Ranger, you’ll be managing a small team of rangers working across different National Trust sites. As you develop a flexible and effective programme of work for your team, you’ll be guided both by business needs and by the Trust’s strategy for restoring nature and enabling everyone to enjoy the countryside. Your role is crucial in meeting the Trust’s high standards of presentation and property maintenance. You’ll build strong and positive relationships with colleagues, contractors, tenants and neighbouring land managers. You’ll introduce a wide variety of people to the importance of your nature conservation work through events, guided walks and engaging the local community.
