Chubb Tempest Re is the third-party reinsurance arm of the Chubb Limited Group, with operations in London, Hamilton (Bermuda) and Stamford.
The Short tail reinsurance division is currently seeking an experienced, technical and motivated individual to enhance their team. The individual will be responsible for both maintaining and growing the property, marine and energy portfolios through broker and client engagement.
In addition, they will also provide coaching and mentoring to assist in the development of junior members of the team. The candidate must be able to strategize, be an effective communicator, exhibit good time management and be able operate within a dynamic team environment.
This role reports directly to the Head of Short Tail.
Key Responsibilities:
* Underwriting and processing of new and renewal business as well as servicing current partnerships.
* Ability to clearly communicate with various internal and external stakeholders, including brokers and internal auxiliary functions.
* Ability to analyse cedant submissions, run rating models (experience and exposure analysis) and underwrite the risk.
* Ideally, have experience of risk xl and pro rata business.
* Responsible for periodic reporting, such as production updates, exposure summaries, and rate movements etc.
* Responsibility for managing aggregation and catastrophe modelling.
* Adherence to all financial, legal, regulatory and compliance guidelines as it relates to the role.
* Willingness and ability to travel for client interactions and conferences.
* Provide advice, guidance and training to junior team members.
* Any other ad hoc duties allocated by the Head of Short Tail.
Qualifications
* Excellent knowledge and experience of Property, Marine, Energy and/or Specialty underwriting/broking reinsurance.
* Minimum A-Level, but preferably Degree standard (or equivalent).
* Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* ACII qualified and/or working towards the accreditation.
