Role Overview
As a Contract Support Officer, you will work as part of a Commercial Assurance service, supporting colleagues in Project and Contract Management Integrated Delivery Hubs across England. Your main responsibilities will involve contract support activities such as uploading contracts, raising purchase orders, processing payment requests, and investigating anomalies to ensure suppliers are paid on time. You will work closely with Project Managers and Commercial Service Managers, and an interest in developing contractual awareness is useful.
Team
Part of Flood and Coastal Risk Management, your team works with Programme Management teams and Integrated Delivery Hubs across England to support contractor payments and other related activities.
Responsibilities
* Upload and manage contracts using agreed tools and processes.
* Raise purchase orders and process payment requests accurately.
* Investigate payment anomalies and ensure timely supplier payments.
* Collaborate with Project Managers and Commercial Service Managers.
Qualifications & Skills
* English and Maths GCSE essential.
* Confident in using MS Office, particularly Excel.
* Some financial administrative experience.
* Experience processing invoices and purchase orders advantageous.
* Strong analytical skills – interpret numerical or financial data, spot issues, and reach solutions.
* Positive, helpful attitude and ability to maintain good working relationships.

Location
Contractual base location is flexible within England. Expect some co‑located working in an Environment Agency Hub or delivery partner offices.
