HR Business Partner
Part-time | 30–35 hours per week (over 5 days) | £55,000 (pro-rata) | Sudbury
Our client, a well-established UK manufacturing business with a strong heritage and a modern, forward-looking mindset are currently looking for a HR Business Partner to join their team in Sudbury.

This HR Business Partner role will see you reporting to the Finance Director and operating as a key member of the Leadership Team. The role offers continuity as well as opportunity; maintaining and building on established people practices while continuing to evolve the HR agenda in line with the needs of the business. One of the key focuses over the next 12 months will be the curation and delivery of a management training programme.
This position will suit an experienced HR generalist who enjoys having real ownership and influence, and who is comfortable balancing strategic input at leadership level with hands-on operational delivery in a stand-alone HR role. You will predominantly be based on-site.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted HR partner to the Leadership Team, contributing to the overall strategic direction of the business
* Translate business objectives into a clear, pragmatic HR roadmap that delivers a strong employee experience
* Champion company values and embed Equality, Diversity & Inclusion into everyday working practices
* Lead organisational development, performance, talent management and succession planning initiatives
* Design, deliver and continuously improve people processes including onboarding, recruitment, policies and the employee handbook
* Scope, design and deliver in-house management training; coach and mentor leaders to build capability and confidence
* Deliver annual benchmarking for salaries and benefits, proposing enhancements aligned to business needs
* Ensure full legal compliance, mitigating people-related risk and maintaining best practice
* Drive process improvements and efficiencies, leveraging HR technology and simplifying ways of working
* Maintain accurate data within the HRIS (Cezanne), including work patterns, absence and reward data
* Provide holiday and absence cover for payroll and pensions processing where required
* Lead people-related projects with strong stakeholder engagement and measurable outcomes
About You
You will be an experienced HR professional who thrives in a stand-alone or highly autonomous HR role, ideally within an SME or manufacturing environment.
Key experience & qualifications:
* CIPD Level 5 minimum (or equivalent experience)
* Background in manufacturing, engineering or operational environments highly desirable
* Strong business acumen with the ability to align people strategy to commercial priorities
* Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring and developing managers
* Solid working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
* Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels and present data-led recommendations
