About The Role
The FAMS Administrator will provide depot support through the effective use of the Fleet Asset Management System (FAMS) for the Seasonal Treatment MPV fleet, ensuring all asset and inventory activities—including configuration management, stock control, procurement, and accurate record‑keeping—are efficiently tracked and reported. This role plays a key part in enabling the efficient planning and execution of maintenance and repair activities, directly maximising asset availability and reliability across the contract.
What you’ll be doing
* FAMS Expert for the Depot.
* Mentoring, dashboard development, generating and interpreting system reports to support maintenance and inventory management.
* Support the Supervisor in tracking PPM completion via the population of the PPM tracker to reconcile scheduled vs actual activity, and population of the completed WO number.
* Assist the Supervisor with the identification of defunct PPM WOs and liaise with the NR Systems team to have them completed, no‑work‑planned.
* Assist with reports to conduct assurance activities relating to asset configuration, including asset numbers, serialised parts, and condition coding.
* Work collaboratively with engineering and operational teams to improve data capture, reporting, and system functionality.
* Support Network Rail (NR) with the testing and implementation of system updates, training, and process change management.
* Conduct cycle counts to reconcile physical stock with system records, aiming for 100% annual coverage.
* Monitor and propose Reorder Points (ROP) and Economic Order Quantities (EOQ) for all stock items to ensure timely replenishment and cost efficiency.
* Maintain accurate BIN locations for all items to support efficient picking, storage and cycle counting.
* Record all inventory movements (issue, transfer, return) in FAMS to maintain traceability and stock accuracy, including Shipment Receipt and inspection on receipt of stock.
* Raise NCDs (Non‑Conformance Deliveries) to highlight quality issues relating to stock or process violations.
* Support the Supervisor in the raising of NCDs for in‑service failures which may constitute a warranty claim.
* Provide up‑to‑date inventory information to help ensure required parts are available for scheduled maintenance and repairs.
* Coordinate the purchase of non‑FAMS items, consumables and services to ensure timely procurement to support depot operations and maintenance activities.
* Process Goods Receipt Notes (GRN) by sending a copy of the Delivery note to the purchasing department.
