Role
They are recruiting an Associate or Finals‑level Trainee to join their thriving technology patent department at any of their Birmingham, Liverpool or London offices. Your work will be varied, handling all aspects of client advice from protecting inventions and product designs to advising on freedom to operate during product development cycles.
Skills & Qualifications
* Qualified UK and/or European Patent Attorney (ideally up to two years post‑qualification) or a trainee patent attorney with Foundation Certificate; background in engineering, electronics, physics, computer science, or a related scientific subject.
* Expected to qualify as both UK and European Patent Attorney if not already holding both qualifications.
* Strong track record of UK and/or European software patent drafting and prosecution.
* Experience prosecuting electronics and telecoms technologies, or a strong academic background in these areas, is a benefit.
* Committed to developing strong client‑care skills and offering no‑nonsense advice to clients.
* Capable of working independently and as part of a team, with excellent organisational, oral and written communication skills, and willingness to work across a range of technologies.
* Commitment to quality, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrate commercial awareness and desire to develop the patent business.
