As a Vice President in the Prime Brokerage Cash & Controls team, you will lead and influence a high-performing function that provides services to hedge funds and professional investors, enabling them to finance their investment activities through a bespoke range of products. Our Prime Brokerage offering includes Global Custody, Securities Lending, Financing, and Margin Solutions. You will set the standard for control excellence and client-first delivery across cash wire processing, payments processing, and controls around equity and fixed income trading activity. You will also coach talent, drive automation and Straight-Through Processing (STP), and champion a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
Job responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day leadership for the Cash & Controls function, modelling high standards of ownership and delivery.
* Coach, mentor, and develop talent through clarity of goals and the fostering of a feedback-rich, inclusive culture.
* Drive team capacity planning and prioritization.
* Own payment controls and adherence to standards by setting clear guardrails and escalating issues with urgency and transparency.
* Review and apply incoming cash wires for institutional and retail clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and control compliance; permanently remediate issues to reduce non-STP recurrence.
* Perform, design, and implement key controls across the trade lifecycle; challenge the status quo to strengthen first-line control design.
* Liaise with global partners and stakeholders to resolve and mitigate reconciliation issues across the Prime Brokerage product set.
* Represent the function in governance forums and communicate complex issues succinctly to senior management and clients.
* Build trusted and lasting relationships with Technology, Operations, Product, Legal, and Risk to accelerate outcomes and manage dependencies.
* Lead change execution (requirements, testing, rollout, adoption) with disciplined program management.
* Prepare and analyse metrics that surface risk, capacity, and performance trends in order to convert insights into action.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Relevant experience or equivalent expertise in payments or controls.
* Demonstrated skills using automation technologies.
* Advanced knowledge of market products, operating procedures, and relevant industry regulations.
* Proven leadership in high-stakes environments: proactive problem solving, clear decision-making, and ownership through to resolution.
* Impeccable time management; ability to set priorities, manage trade-offs, and deliver at a high standard under pressure.
* FINRA licensing: SIE + Series 99 (or commitment to obtain).
* Expertise in data analysis and storytelling with data; ability to translate insights into decisions for senior stakeholders.
* Strong executive communication skills; ability to craft and deliver in-person and virtual presentations to senior management.
* People leadership competencies: coaching and developing talent, influencing without authority, and driving cross-functional alignment.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Financial services experience in Corporate Banking or Securities Services.
* Strong payments understanding and background with hands-on control design and testing exposure.
* Demonstrated leadership of teams and/or programs, including change management and continuous improvement.
* Experience within Prime Brokerage, Securities Settlements, or Asset Servicing.
* Reconciliations experience with a track record of reducing breaks and shortening resolution cycles.
Licensing note
* As a successful applicant you will be required to obtain your FINRA Series 99 certification within 12 months of your start date.
